JT has been coaching tennis for over 15 and has been involved in every aspect of the sport. Throughout his coaching experience, JT has worked as a head pro at a country club a 12 & under development specialist and a high performance traveling coach. JT spent 2 years as an Academy Director in Alpharetta before rejoining forces with Grant Stafford at Stafford Tennis Academy in 2018. Grant originally brought JT to Atlanta in 2013 after hiring him as a coach to work with his Southern and National level players. JT’s experience includes all levels of performance training from developmental training to professional achievement at the highest levels. Throughout his coaching career, JT has helped place numerous Georgia junior tennis players into NCAA programs across the country, some of which include Ivy League schools.
JT’s educational background includes a bachelors degree in Exercise Science with concentrations in Biomechanics and Kinesiology from Frostburg State University in Maryland. With his education JT believes that this helps him provide the most functional development for any athlete.
Growing up, JT excelled as a two-sport athlete from Virginia who spent his time traveling the country competing in national junior tennis and AAU basketball. For now, JT still enjoys playing tennis at an open level and sparring with past academy alumni.
JT currently lives in Sugar Hill with his wife, Lyndsay, and their two young children, Shane and McKenna. When he’s not on the court, JT enjoys spending time with his family.
